St. Augustine's Manual, 1574

These are extremely rare leaves of early printing from the
First Edition of "Saint Augustine's Manual or Little Book of Contemplation of Christ"
which was an anonymous work of devotion paraphrasing the work of
early Church Fathers in a Psalm like cadence and arranged according to subject.
Originally believed to have been issued in the second half of the twelfth century and written
by the famous Church Father Augustine: it was more than likely the work of a
16th century entrepreneur. Printed in 1574 by John Daye at London.
The octavo size leaves measure 145 x 100 mm.*

Displayed as Recto and Verso
